Leonardo The great

Leonardo da vinci was born in 1495 in a small town called Vinci in Italy. He was a great painter and he used to paint very realistically using dark and light colours. Some of his paintings had a 3D effect. Some of his Master pieces include ‘The Mona Lisa’ painting of a lady with mysterious look and smile. It took 10 years for him to paint the Mona Lisa’s lips. Even today researches are being going on to find the reason for the smile of this lady.

Leonardo was often referred as ‘Renaissance Man’ a man with infinite curiosity and power of innovation. His work ‘The Last Supper’ was the most famous religious painting of all time. He was also famous for his work ‘Vitruvian Man’. Most unfortunate thing is only fifteen of his works remain today. Leonardo conceived the power of thinking ahead of his time. As an engineer he had designed helicopter, a tank, a calculator and many things. Some of his designs were invented during his time itself.

As a scientist he had knowledge of anatomy, optics, civil engineering, and hydrodynamics. He died in 1519 at Amboise, Indre-et-Loire which is present day’s France.
